Our Life Reality – No! Not the washing machine.

Sometimes being an adult, you must face challenges.  Especially if you are a homeowner.  And it is very sad when a major appliance decides to basically die.

Now my husband likes to fix anything and everything.  But not necessarily on my timeline.  When our washing machine stopped working, he was sure he could fix it and I have full faith and confidence he could.  And he probably still can.  But months later, it is still not working.

For a while, we were doing our laundry at my mothers apartment, but it really took away from our time with her as we were trying to get our laundry done.  Doing laundry for free is good.  But spending free time with a loved one is so much better.

Now we are doing our laundry at a laundromat.  It costs so much more than I remember some 25 years ago, but boy is it a time saver!!!  Plus, we make it a family affair!  Family time at the laundromat…  I never thought of it as being fun, but it is.  Now they have TVs, free WiFi, dollar bill changers that can give you $20 worth of quarters or, the best thing ever, each machine has a card reader that will charge your credit/debit card!!!

I must say, after using this laundromat for several weeks now, it is always very well maintained.  We typically go in the morning so it is not very crowded.  But even in the evening/night we found that there is not a problem finding an available washer or dryer.  I love that there are different sizes of washers and dryers to use.  So much has changed in the last 25 years or so, LOL!!!  The attendant working there routinely cleans around all of the machines and the floors.  I have yet to see a machine that has an out of order sign on it.  I will continue to come here!!!

Let it be known that I will NEVER complain about doing my laundry at the laundromat.  It is a real time saver.  We can have all of our laundry done within 2 hours which includes driving there and back AND folding all of the clothes.  This makes me happy and definitely makes me feel productive!!!

I wonder if I can have three or four washer and dryers in my dream house…
