Carnival Breeze 2022 Recap – Sea Day #2

It’s our last sea day. On our way for our pre-breakfast snacking, we came upon the towel animal invasion. So many towel animals all over the Lido deck!!!! Of course I MUST take some pictures.

Then is was on to grab some pastries for myself. I decided on banana nut bread, apple strudel, and a cinnamon roll with coffee to wash it down. Jim had a Blue Iguana breakfast burrito which had eggs, ham, chicken sausage, hash browns, grilled onions, guacamole, creme fraiche, and salsa rojo.

After we finished our pre-breakfast snack, we decided to go to the morning show held in the Ovation theater. I have never had such a good time at a show. So much fun!!!! Cookie is so entertaining!!!

We briefly returned to our stateroom to find our last sea animal. I wonder if our towel animal will miss us as much as we will miss them…

We sent down to the Blush dining room for our last sea day brunch. Jim ordered his usual eggs Benedict, hash browns, bacon, orange juice, coffee and a Bloody Mary. Ordered steak and eggs, hash browns, honey butter biscuit, orange juice, coffee, and a Mimosa. The food was great, the service was great, and since we were seated with others, the conversations were great.

We did not feel like packing up all of our stuff, so we went to watch the Family Face Off at Ocean Plaza. But first, I had to make myself a mimosa.

We have not gone to the Pasta bar and today would be our last chance. So for lunch, Jim had a Caesar salad, bread, and lasagna. I had a Caesar salad, bread, and linguini with meat sauce. For some reason, I did not take any pictures of the lasagna or linguini. We must have been real hungry.

After we finished our lunch, we went to think about packing. The weather had cancelled my plans of hanging out on the Serenity deck the entire day. So, we went to the Q and Awesome with Cookie in the Ovation theater. Cookie is still the best!!!! Unfortunately, the BINGO people started coming in and talking. They were talking so loudly that we could not hear what Cookie was saying. Definitely a rude bunch but they didn’t spoil my fun.

We have a tradition on the last day of each cruise. We must take a picture with Jim emptying his pockets to show he’s broke and I’m trying to convince him that we need to book another cruise. The photographers always manage to get the perfect shot for us.

For dinner, we decided to go to the Lido Marketplace buffet again. Luckily, Guy’s Burger Joint was still open so I had a patty with cheese, no bun, fries, and a Mango Magic while Jim had a pig patty, fries and a beachcomber. Since it was cold outside, we decided to eat our dinner in our room.

And now, the last day is over. We spent the rest of the night/evening packing then we had some cookies and other sweet goodies from the Lido Marketplace. Sorry. No pictures.

Coming up next, it’s time to leave.

Carnival Vista 2021 – Sea Day #3

It’s our last day on the Carnival Vista. Tomorrow they will be forcing us to leave! But that’s ok. We are going to make the best of today.

First, we will start the day with Sea Day Brunch. What’s brunch without a Bloody Mary and a Mimosa? Definitely our brunch starter of choice!

I was shocked when Jim didn’t order his normal Eggs Benedict. Today, we decided on the Voyage Burger. He said it was very good. I had my typical Steak and Eggs.

Before long, we had finished our meal and wondered around the ship for a while. We came upon the class that teaches how to make the towel animals. We didn’t stay but we took some pictures!

When we arrived to our stateroom, we found this towel animal, or should I say towel heart.

We spent some time packing then we went to Lido Marketplace for lunch.

One of the VIFP Gold perks is a free drink on the last night of the cruise to be used after 5pm I think. We decided we would get our drink from the Alchemy bar. This is the first time we have ever ordered a drink from any Alchemy bar. We have high hopes for our beverage! I’m not positive, but I think Jim ordered the Quick Fix and I may have had the Pain Relief. I do not remember so it is quiet possible I’m wrong.

The last dinner on the ship is sad. Sad because we know this cruise is coming to an end. So we will enjoy our dinner and maybe shed a tear or two when they sing that song…

Tonight we made sure to get pictures of our wait team before things got crazy. They were a fantastic team and I am so glad we were seated with them.

Our last meal of the cruise consisted of Rustic French Bread and Ciabatta with Whipped Butter, Olive Oil & Balsamic, and tomato & olive Tapemade, Steak Ale and Cheddar Soup, Braised Short Ribs, Broiled Strip Loin Steak, Baked Alaska, and one last Carnival Melting chocolate Cake.

After dinner and saying our goodbyes, we walked around determined to find the perfect backdrop for my required last photo of the cruise. I could not wait to take it when I found exactly what I wanted!!!!

We also did some shopping as we still had a lot of on board credit to use!

And then we returned to our room to finish any packing and to sleep.

The final installment is coming soon!!!

Carnival Triumph 2014 -Installment #7 Last sea day and the end.

The part of the cruise I dislike the most is the last day.  The last sea day.  For us this means relaxing and packing.  Packing is definitely not relaxing but it is something that must be done.  I’m sad knowing that tomorrow I will be forced to leave the ship and drive home.

We did spend time in the smoking section today and said our goodbye’s to new friends, just in case we do not see them tomorrow as we are leaving.

We captured some pictures of our last sunset at sea for this cruise.  I have high hopes for taking more sunset pictures at sea in the future.

Even the last dinner in the main dining room was sad.  But we put on a happy face as best as we could.  We said our goodbyes to our fantastic waitstaff and showed them our appreciation for the had work they had done for us the entire cruise.

After dinner, we walked around and had some final pictures taken by a couple of different photographers.  I love that there are so many options for backdrops.  These pictures will not be ready until tomorrow! Some day I will be on a ship and take more pictures, maybe like these!!!

We returned to our room and were greeted by our final towel animal.  I wonder if he is as sad as I am.  We put our luggage outside our door.  Made one last trip to the smoking section.  Then we went to bed.

The next morning, we woke up so the sight of Galveston.  Although I love Galveston, it is always sad to see it on the horizon knowing that we will be leaving the Carnival Triumph.  We had breakfast on the Lido deck before leaving the ship.  And even though we are not home, it feels like vacation is over.  At least until the next cruise.

Thanks for reading this blog.  As you can tell I’m definitely not a professional writer.  I am doing this as a reminder of our trip and to coincide with the scrapbook pages I am making for this trip.  Now that all is left for me to do on this series is to make the scrapbook pages look more finished.  Some of the pages are very bare and need a little something to really make them pop.  So, I will take some time to try to finish them before putting them in page protectors and loading them into an album.  If you have any suggestions, please feel free to let me know!
