How does this happen?

I was expecting a package from BaubleBar today. It was my first time to order from them and I have been very excited. I waited all day for the expected delivery and nothing. When checked the tracking on my package, the message said delivery attempted – no access to delivery location at 7:57 pm? What the heck??? I do not live in a gated community. The delivery address is not a business address. I haven’t had a business address for years!!!! Plus I have been home all day. Someone is ALWAYS here. So why is the post office not being honest. I guarantee you one thing, I will be waiting for my mailman tomorrow and he/she better have my package!!!!

Now if UPS can find my package from shutterfly that they conveniently lost!!!!

Getting Carnival Vista 2018 Ready #3

Today was like any other Sunday… Lunch with family and discussing our up-coming cruise. We even looked over our Dollar Tree shopping list. We probably should start knocking some of those things of the list now instead of waiting until the last minute! We will see how well that works our for us!!!

My son-in-law brought be some tumblers today. I cannot wait to try making some vinyl decals for them. I hope I can do it!!! At least I have time to practice. I should probably go buy some plastic tumblers from Dollar Tree to practice on!!!

I currently have 4 sets of Boca Clips that I plan on taking. But since there are nine of us going, I still need to find 5 more.

I always take a flashlight and a collapsible dirty clothes hamper. You never know when you will need a flashlight!!!!

I also always take an over-the-door shoe holder. But, that is not what I use it for. I use it to keep suntan lotion, hair clips, hair brushes, and stuff like that. I will not be hanging it over the closet door. I will be getting some magnetic hooks to use. I have heard that the walls are magnetic so I’m hoping I can make it work!!! Wish me luck!

I also have some vacuum seal storage bags that I MIGHT try to use when I start packing. I’m just not 100% sold on them. I might try to look for some actual packing cubes to try.

Have you ever used packing cubes? If you have, what brand did you use and where did you find them? Were they useful???

Frustrated with UPS

I’m so disappointed. I ordered photos thru my Shutterfly app for the first time! I was so excited! I received my confirmation email from Shutterfly confirming my order! I received an email from Shutterfly informing me my orange package was on the way with my tracking number and expected delivery date of July 26th!

I anxiously tracked my package and noted that the package destination scan on July 25 at 7:41 am in Fort Worth. Still had an expected delivery date of July 26th.

Well, the expected delivery date has come and gone but my package has not been delivered. The message On the package tracker now says to check back for the scheduled delivery date.

I sent an email to UPS asking them if my package was list somewhere in their facility. I received the standard we’re sorry email and was advised to request a missing package search. I have done this and now I wonder how long it will be before I hear from them!!!

I really do not think it would be hard to find a bright orange box with 163 photos in it!!! At least I hope it isn’t.

Getting Carnival Vista 2018 ready #2

Our adventure on the Carnival Vista is a 4-generation family cruise. There are a total of nine of us on this cruise… 8 relatives and 1 friend that we will refer to as my personal wine expert!!! There will be 3 people in 3 staterooms. All staterooms are on the Lido deck. One stateroom is an interior with walkway view!!! I was so lucky to be able to grab that one, LOL. The other two are adjoining balcony staterooms. This adventure is going to be so much fun.

In the first installment, I showed the fans that we have purchased so far. Today’s installments will be some items that are essential for us. Not everything will be useful for everyone but it is for us.

Since there are 9 of us and we will be bringing on our own cokes and sprites, it is necessary for us to have our own koozies!!!! The koozies that look like tropical shirts were purchased online thru Oriental Trading. The other five I purchased at Michael’s. Who knew koozies would be near the checkout line!!!!

With 3 staterooms, I will put together 3 binders with all the necessary and important paperwork. Inside the binder will be a pencil holder to keep passports, case for tipping, and other items.

Of course, each room will have a dry erase board for communication purposes!!!! Dollar tree to the rescue.

Getting Carnival Vista ready #1

Nothing much is happening today. I have searched my house for a couple of days trying to find a picture hanging out. I know I saw it, I just don’t remember where!!!

I have decided to keep track of things we purchase for our cruise. So let’s get this started!

As most cruisers know, sometimes the staterooms just do not get cool enough. Especially if you are naturally hot natured or menopausal! My hubby picked up a fan to help us out. We might need to get another one for our granddaughter!

While shopping at Bed Bath and Beyond, I noticed some necklace fans. Of course I gad yo grab enough for everyone in our traveling party.

Tomorrow I will go through my stuff to see what I have used on other cruises and that I will be taking on this cruise!

Carnival Magic 2011 photos not used in scrapbooks.

This evening, I tackled organizing and putting away all of the photos we took when we were on the Carnival Magic. We took a lot of pictures. I believe it was well over 2000!!! And these are the ones we did not use!!!! They were originally in photo protectors but now that that project is over, it’s time to consolidate the remaining ones.

I did my best to make sure the left over pictures were in order and then I spent over an hour putting them in photo protectors. I buy mine at Hobby Lobby. There are 12 x 12 and each sheet holds 12 photos. I have used them with all of my projects and I have been very pleased with them. I’m even happier when they are on sale!!!!

So now, I can go to bed happy knowing that I have another task to check off my to do list!!!

Scrap paper organization!!!

I do believe I have found a solution to my scrap paper situation. I realize this may or may not be temporary. It may or may not work and function well for me. But it is what I’m going with for now!!!

I have placed the smaller pieces of scrap paper in a clear plastic container that I believe I got at Tuesday Morning. It is for closet and/or drawer organization, but I think it will work great for the scrap paper. I have sorted and organized the paper by color.

I organized the large pieces of scrap paper by size and color and put them in 12 x 12 page protectors. It works great and fits nicely in a Totally Tiffany paper holder that I purchased at Hobby Lobby.

The patterned paper all fit nicely in a craft keeper (at least I think that is what is call) that a purchased at Michael’s.

I’m hoping this system works well for me.

Organizing the mountain of leftover (scraps) scrapbook paper.

Since I finished our Carnival Magic 2011 albums, I have a mountain of scrap paper. I’m trying to decide how I want to organize it. I’ve had some ideas but I just haven’t really decided on what will work for me.

For now I have the solid in one box and the pattern papers in another. I’m sure organizing the solids will be easy, it’s the patterned paper that has me at a loss?

I hope I have the solids organized tomorrow morning… that is if my brain doesn’t fry from this heat wave!!!!

I started the door decorations !

It’s hot outside and our washing machine is on strike! So I did what any person with a Cricut Explore Air would do. I grabbed the dirty clothes, my Cricut, my laptop, and an large amount of scrapbook paper and headed to my mothers! I figured I could wash my clothes, have lunch and visit with my mom, and work on our door decorations!!!!

I had already saved some images I wanted to use and made them a size I thought would be good for us. I was able to get them fine fairly quickly which really surprised me. Now all that is left to do is let everyone pick the one they want to I can put names on them then laminate them!!!

And just like that, I have another cruise related item checked off my to do list!!!

Organizing my scrapbook paper I didn’t use for the Carnival Magic cruise series

Now that I have completed the Carnival Magic 2011 scrapbook pages, I had a lot of paper I didn’t use that I needed to put up. Luckily, I have several cruise scrapbooks I need to do and a cruise on the Carnival Vista coming up, so I know these papers will be used.

I keep my paper in 12 x 12 page protectors to keep them from getting messed up. They are then placed in cubes I purchased from Michaels and Hobby Lobby. I have them separated by category. It is very easy for me to find what I need, but I still have the urge and desire to buy more!!!! So today was spent putting all the patterned paper into page protectors and putting the solid colors in the proper slots in their cubes!!! So much fun!!!

I did manage to start some wedding pages from when Jim and I got married in 2001. The only thing I have done is put the pictures on paper, but I’m not sure I like it. I will probably end of changing them to something I like better in the next day or 2. But it’s a start!!!

Tomorrow’s weekly family lunch will be at my mother’s apartment. Luckily, that means I will not be spending to much time out in the heat. I have found that this extremely high temperatures we have been experiencing is affecting me negatively due to my COPD. I have come to realize that there are some things I will have to miss. I’m hoping for cooler weather, like in the 90’s!!!! And maybe with a breeze here and there!!!. I’m sure I would be okay if I was on a cruise in the Caribbean. I know the salt air would do me good!!!!
